As most of you will have seen from Professor Elizabeth Johnson’s email yesterday, it has been decided that the annual ARVO Macular Pigment Dinner will be discontinued. I would like to echo the sentiments of Professor Johnson and thank the pioneer macular pigment scientists for initiating this meeting, which has functioned so well for international scientific collaboration and discussion over the years. I personally have had the honour of presenting at the meeting and also Chairing the meeting in 2014.
We would also like to thank the sponsors of the event over the years, as without their continued support, we would not have been able to arrange the meetings.
Archive: The Macular Carotenoids Conference organisers are pleased to announce that we will be creating an archive page on the Macular Carotenoids Conference website (www.macularcarotenoids.org) in recognition of this special group meeting.
Please note, that we are happy to accept text or comments for inclusion on this webpage. This can include, for example, a summary of your experience and/or memories from your participation at this event.
Finally, as also pointed out by Professor Johnson, it is a sign of the success of our field that meetings, such as the Macular Carotenoids Conference meeting in Cambridge, have been established to support discussion and ongoing scientific discoveries and development in our field.
Sincerely, Professor John Nolan
